Who are the Chartered Institute of Marketing?
CIM stands for Chartered Institute of Marketing and is the world’s leading professional marketing body. CIM was founded in 1911 and now has over 30,000 members. The marketing body provides a range of marketing qualifications ranging from level 3 to level 7.
Why did the CIM change their syllabus?
The Chartered Institute of Marketing updates its syllabus every 5 years. They do this to ensure the content taught is high-quality and can help students progress in their careers as modern marketers in an ever-evolving industry.
What is different from the 2024 CIM syllabus?
There are three key areas of change in the 2024 CIM syllabus:
- Students who enrol after September 2024 will have a range of new modules available to them.
- The new modules are all assessed by multiple-choice, online exams
- There will be six booking windows for the exams.
Why are there six exam booking windows?
For the new 2024 syllabus, all modules are assessed by a multiple-choice exam, plus there is more choice over when you can book exams. To give more flexibility, exams can be booked during six booking windows (a year).
Can I complete one module instead of a full CIM qualification?
Modules can be taken individually which would provide you with an Award. Individual modules are perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about a specific area of marketing.
Full CIM qualifications are also available which include a number of modules.
What is an Extended Qualification?
This CIM syllabus provides you with the option to get a CIM Extended Foundation, Extended Certificate or Extended Diploma. To get an Extended Qualification you will need to complete an extra elective module. This is a great option for those looking to expand their knowledge further on a range of marketing topics.
How long will it take to gain a CIM qualification?
We recommend a minimum of 4 months to complete a Foundation Certificate. However, most learners prefer a slower pace to fit studying around work and other commitments, so we offer support for 24 months.
We recommend a minimum of 40 weeks for a Certificate and Diploma. To allow you to fit studying around other commitments, we offer support for 24 months.
