Overview: CIM Certificate in Professional and Digital Marketing

The CIM Certificate in Professional and Digital Marketing qualification is perfect for marketers with over 1 year’s experience and interested in upskilling. Students can complete the training in 9 months and will need to pass 4 modules.

After the course, students will be able to plan and run campaigns, understand customer behaviour, use SEO and social media to reach the right audiences, all while keeping ethics and sustainability in mind. Expert tutors will teach both theory and real-world skills to provide students with the skills to be successful modern marketers.

Entry criteria and support

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification; or 1+ years’ experience in a sales or marketing role
  • If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate English language proficiency (IELTS Academic Module overall score of 6.5 or equivalent)

We recommend a minimum period of 9 months to complete the Certificate. To allow you to fit studying around other commitments, we offer support for 24 months for CIM qualifications and 6 months for CIM Modular Awards.

  • Understand the purpose and contribution of marketing to the organisation
  • Understand the factors and trends in the marketing environment and how they impact decision-making
  • Recognise what influences buyer behaviour in various contexts

  • Understand how to effectively implement and control the marketing plan

  •   Assessed by a multiple choice on-screen exam which lasts 2 hours. This exam has 70 questions in total.

Responsible Marketing Module:

  • Understand the impact of the marketing environment on an organisation’s ethical, responsible, and sustainable decision-making
  • Understand the role marketing plays in supporting an organisation’s ethical, social and sustainable agendas
  • Understand how the marketing mix can be adapted to meet both societal and commercial objectives

  •   Assessed by a multiple choice on-screen exam which lasts 90 minutes. This exam has 45 questions in total.

Planning Integrated Campaigns Module:

  • Understand how to develop a customer-centric and integrated campaign plan
  •   Assessed by a multiple choice on-screen exam which lasts 90 minutes. This exam has 45 questions in total.
