Two Psychometric assessments for CIM Marketing Leadership Programme Kiran Kapur | 09 March 2017

Cambridge Marketing College has always been highly committed to developing marketing leaders. The College and its tutors have sought to deliver added value with all of its courses since the very beginning.

As part of its new offering for the CIM post graduate Marketing Leadership Programme, the College has decided to offer two psychometric assessments to enable students to understand their emotional intelligence, personality and leadership potential.

This understanding can then provide the basis for developing their management and leadership skills in the global marketing environment.

What is emotional intelligence?

Emotional intelligence has become much more important as the working world has become ever more complex.

What are the assessments?

Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire’ (TEIQue)

The first is called ‘Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire’ (TEIQue). This is an emotional intelligence assessment designed to help individuals to understand and manage: their emotions; how well they interpret and deal with the emotions of others and how they use this knowledge to manage relationships.

Completing the TEIQue assessment online takes around 35 minutes. There are 153 items with a Likert response format in the questionnaire.

High Potential Trait Indicator (HPTI)

The High Potential Trait Indicator (HPTI) helps identify leadership potential by exploring a person’s personality traits and provides an insight into how suited they may be for a given job role or position such as senior executive leadership.

By understanding their personality and how this interacts with a particular function or role, this can help delegates to develop their strengths and find areas for improvement to reach their full leadership potential.

This assessment takes between 8 and 10 minutes to complete.

How will it work?

Students enrolled on the new CIM Marketing Leadership Programme are invited to complete two online assessments in their own time. College Fellow, Steve Bax, will provide feedback on both tests to each delegate face to face or by Skype or Facetime. Steve has completed training with Thomas on both assessments and is an accredited practitioner for HPTI and a certified user of TEIQue.
