Getting ready for your exam? The key to a smooth experience is making sure you have everything prepared in advance. Cambridge Marketing College has created a handy checklist to help you get set up and feel confident for your online CIM exam.

Online CIM Exam Checklist

☐ Read CIM’s full guidance

Located in Week A of each module in your Learning Zone, or you can view the guidance here

☐ Take the CIM Mock Test

The mock test (also linked in Week A) allows you to:

  1. Check that your setup meets CIM requirements
  2. Practise the online testing format
  3. Avoid surprises on test day

☐ Use the correct browser

You must use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for your exam. It must be the latest version.

☐ Check your computer has enough RAM

Proctorio requires at least 2GB of RAM to run effectively.

If you don’t have enough space:

  • You will be notified after clicking the online test link
  • You can log back out to clear space if needed

This is fine as long as you haven’t started the actual exam.

☐ Close other programs and disable blockers
Make sure:

  • All other webpages and browsers are closed
  • Any proxy is disconnected
  • Pop-up blocker is disabled
  • No background apps are running

☐ Make sure you have received your exam link

Once you’ve booked your exam, CIM will send you an email containing your exam link. It can take up to 10 days after the booking window closes.
