Being an apprentice is exciting, but let’s be real—it’s not always easy. Balancing work, study, and life can get overwhelming, and sometimes it can feel like you’re going it alone. That’s where the Association of Apprentices (AoA) comes in. It’s a free community that’s all about helping apprentices like you reach your goals and make the most out of your apprenticeship.
Here’s why joining the Association of Apprentices membership is a game-changer:
1. Meet Other Apprentices
With nearly 30,000 members, AoA is a place where you can meet people who actually get what you’re going through. If you’re looking for advice, someone to share wins with, or even vent to, AoA online spaces and in-person meetups make it easy to meet other apprentices.
2. Keep Motivated
Keeping motivated whilst juggling a busy life and studying can be a challenge. Those who complete their apprenticeships get better jobs, more money, and bigger promotions. Alongside your Learning Zone and the college support, you can also use AoA’s tools and support to keep you motivated and on track.
3. Boost Your Skills
Even though we offer Drop-Ins and a wide range of resources at the college, we also recommend looking at AoA resources and their expert master classes.
Their Learning Resources has tons of materials to help with off-the-job training and building your skills. AoA’s monthly online expert master classes also cover a range of useful skills such as problem-solving, decision making and presenting.
4. Your Opinions Matter
Got something to say about being an apprentice? AoA Voice, gives you the mic. Share your thoughts, and they’ll use your feedback to influence policies and make things better for apprentices everywhere.
5. Stick Around After You’re Done
Just because you finish your apprenticeship doesn’t mean the journey’s over. Starting in 2024, AoA launched the Post Apprenticeship Recognition Scheme (PARS). It’ll give you post-nominals that you can use after your name and recognition for everything you’ve achieved.
