The Level 7 Marketing Leadership Programme is the CIM's highest level qualification, equivalent to a Master's degree. This course is for marketers with several years experience at a senior level who want to get to the very top of their game.

The aims of this programme are to develop your skills in: constructing an argument, evaluating marketing concepts, understanding technology and new trends, collaborating and influencing across the business, people management and leadership.

Duration

Each module takes 6 months to complete, therefore the full course should take 18 months in total.

Entry criteria

  • Level 6 qualification (ie a full honours degree) in any discipline, plus 7+ years marketing experience,
  • OR; Level 6 qualification (ie a full honours degree) in Marketing, plus 5+ years marketing experience,
  • PLUS; Evidence of career progression, a sufficiently strategic current role and IELTS 7 or equivalent (if first language isn't English).

Course modules:

Contemporary Challenges Mandatory

Study hours: 200

This module will enable you to evaluate the potential impact of emerging contemporary marketing challenges and apply strategic thinking to develop successful and practical strategies.

  • Critically analyse the changing dynamics of an organisation’s environment
  • Determine key business drivers for organisational success
  • Evaluate the relevance of emerging marketing challenges to the organisation’s future direction
  • Critically assess the contribution of the challenges to the value creation of an organisation 
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of how the organisation can develop a positive response to emerging challenges
  • Recommend resource-led innovative approaches to contemporary marketing challenges

Assessment: Assessment is by a project-based assignment.

Leading Change Mandatory

Study hours: 200

A key aspect of a senior marketer’s role is leading and managing change within an organisation. This module will enable you to:

  • meet the challenges of change by providing a platform for supporting future responses
  • harness organisational potential and sustain innovation
  • develop an understanding of how the organisation’s assets can be managed
  • sustain a clear market position to guide, support and implement market-led change within an organisation.

Assessment: Organisation based assignment.

Managing Business Growth Elective

Study hours: 200

This module will enable you to develop a structured and creative approach to determining where potential or existing opportunities for growth exist.

Assessment: Assessed by a project-based assignment.

Consultancy Elective

Study hours: 200

This module is designed to develop the skills required to build and develop client relationships either as an independent consultant or in a consultancy role within a large organisation. 

Assessment: Assessed by a project-based assignment.
