Nigel is an experienced marketer with over 20 years’ experience in marketing services and professional advisory businesses.
After gaining an Economics degree from Bristol University, Nigel's marketing career started at NatWest where he worked in the UK corporate banking division. He continued in marketing financial services with a major Japanese bank before studying for an MBA at IESE in Barcelona. After business school he joined Gemini Consulting and advised a range of banks and corporates on corporate and marketing strategy. In 1996 he was appointed Marketing Director of Mills & Reeve, one of the UK's leading law firms. While at Mills & Reeve, he worked with the Cambridge Marketing College and the Chartered Institute of Marketing on a professional qualification for marketers in the professional services sector.
Since 2002 he has worked in the environmental consultancy sector and is now Global Head of Marketing and Communications for SLR. At SLR, Nigel's responsibilities include brand, communications and business planning, along with managing the development of key client relationships.
Nigel's interests focus on marketing principles relating to customer relationships, the services sector and environmental and social responsibility. Nigel is also a non-exec. director of PSMG, the membership organisation for marketers in professional services, and the lead author of the Professional Services Marketing Handbook.
