Health and safety policy

Purpose

Our Health and Safety Policy is to provide a safe work environment for all staff, prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health.

We aim to

  • manage health and safety risks in our workplace
  • provide clear instructions, information and adequate training to ensure employees are able to work safely
  • provide personal protective equipment, where needed, to staff and visitors
  • provide and maintain safe equipment and a safe working environment
  • implement emergency procedures, including evacuation in case of fair or other significant incident
  • review and revise this policy at least annually

Responsibilities for Health and Safety

Overall and final responsibility: Kiran Kapur, CEO

Day to day responsibility for ensuring the policy is put into practice: Shane Minett (Operations and Finance Director)

All employees should:

  • Co-operate on health and safety matters.
  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
  • Report all health and safety concerns to Senior Leadership Team

Arrangements for Health and Safety

Risk assessment:
  • An annual risk assessment is undertaken and actions taken
  • In addition, risks are assessed when working habits or conditions change
  • CMC will make sure that suitable arrangements are in place for employees who work remotely
  • Fire alarms are tested regularly.
  • Air filters are cleaned regularly.
  • CMC will supply any office equipment that is needed to keep staff safe
Consultation

CMC will consult staff routinely on health and safety matters as they arise and formally on an annual basis when this policy is reviewed

Evacuation

CMC will ensure that escape routes are well signed and kept clear at all times evacuation plans are tested from time to time and updated if necessary
