About Cambridge Marketing College

Cambridge Marketing College teaches CIM and CIPR qualifications, as well as apprenticeships in marketing, PR, sustainability and AI. We've been teaching for 35 years, have an excellent reputation within our sector, and a strong international presence.

Our learners are all working while they study and range in age from 18 to 50+, from those taking their first steps in a marketing career to senior leaders. We have a faculty of more than 40 tutors, all of whom are practising marketing professionals.

Our headquarters are in Over, Cambridgeshire (CB24 5PJ).

 

About the role

We are looking for maternity leave cover for our Communications Manager for a 10-month fixed-term contract, starting on the 1st September 2026. This is a part-time role, working three days per week.

This is a hands-on role requiring writing and design skills to create engaging communications.

Reporting to the CEO, you will also supervise our PR apprentice, including supporting her through her final assessment. You will work closely with our curriculum, learning support and administration teams to ensure clear communications with our current learners and clients. You will also work with our Sales team and Registrar on communications for new clients and learners.

 

Day-to-day duties

  • Supervising social media planning and content.
  • Supervising monthly newsletters for clients and learners.
  • Ensuring communications are delivered for key events throughout the year.
  • Devising, creating, delivering and analysing email campaigns using Zoho Campaigns.
  • Planning and delivering communications around key messages for learners and clients. During this role, we will be launching new products and introducing changes to assessments, all of which will require clear and engaging communications. This may include writing blogs, creating checklists, flowcharts, infographics, videos and other content to explain and simplify processes for our learners and clients.
  • Working with our Google Ads agency.
  • Keeping the website up to date and optimising it for GEO as this develops, working alongside our IT consultancy.

Larger projects

Q4 2026: Updating our Prospectus, working with our designer.
Q1–Q3 2027: Supporting the Sales team to improve our B2B marketing campaigns and messaging.


Key skills

  • We are looking for someone who can devise, create, design and write engaging communications.
  • Knowledge of Canva.
  • Comfortable managing a varied workload and adjusting priorities as business needs evolve.
  • Experience in marketing, communications and management. Preferably 5+ years.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues and contribute to the wider team are an important part of our company culture.
  • The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
  • This is an office-based role in CB24. While we are always prepared to be flexible, we prefer staff to be on site for the first six months of any role so they can get to know the team and become immersed in our company culture.
