The CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications is designed for communications professionals whether they are working in Advertising, PR or Digital Marketing Communications. It teaches practical, vocational skills which can be used in the workplace immediately, as well as the underpinning theory of marketing communications.
A Bachelor or Masters degree in a non-Business discipline or 2+ years’ experience in a sales or marketing role.
This CAM Diploma has 5 mandatory modules but at CMC we also incorporate Digital Communications through the Integrating Digital Media & Branding and the Digital Marketing Essentials modules to ensure maximum contemporary content. As a result you now have the option of obtaining a further Diploma in Digital Marketing (Media & Branding) from this course.
The course usually takes 18 months to complete.
Each module requires 120 hours of study to complete.
Marketing and Consumer Behaviour Mandatory
- The Marketing Mix (7Ps)
- How customers make purchase decisions
- Theories of marketing using psychology and sociology
Direct Marketing and Sales Promotion Mandatory
- Sales promotion practices
- Nature and scope of direct marketing
- Delivering an effective direct marketing campaign
- The role and practice of advertising within marketing
- How to plan and create advertising campaigns
- The role and responsibilities of agencies and media owners
Integrated Media Mandatory
- The principles of media research, media selection and campaign planning
- Mass media, opportunities for advertising creativity and impact of technology
- Digital media and trends
Public Relations Mandatory
- History and definitions of PR
- The function of PR and the needs of varying audiences
- PR techniques and uses
- Creating an effect PR plan
Assessment is by a 2 hour exam for the Advertising, PR, and Direct Marketing & Sales Promotion modules; and a work-based assignment for each of the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, and Integrated Media modules. Assessment for the digital modules, which is also by assignment, is optional.
