The CIM Foundation Certificate will provide you with the understanding of the function of marketing and its role in an organisation. You will learn about the seven Ps of the marketing mix and how to apply it. You will understand more about customers and managing customer relationships and be able to communicate with internal and external customers in different ways.
This course is ideal for students who want to learn more about marketing, whether they are in a marketing job or not, and who are educated to A-Level standard.
DurationThe full qualification usually takes 9 months to complete but the College provides you with 12 months support.

Marketing Principles MandatoryStudy hours: 90
You will understand the key concepts and terminology used in marketing, and its role within organisations
You will identify key components of the marketing environment and appreciate how to collect and use relevant information. You will also learn the the marketing mix and how it is applied in different organisations.

Assessment: A 90 minute online exam with 50 multiple-choice questions.
Customer Communications ElectiveStudy hours: 90
You will learn how marketing communications
can be used to engage with customers. You will understand the process of marketing
communications, and the range of tools available. You will also explore
how to develop a successful marketing communications campaign, and how the campaign can be put into practice.

- Customer relationships; managing and monitoring
Assessment: Assessed by writing a 7 page assignment on an organisation of your choice.
Digital Essentials ElectiveStudy hours: 6-8 per week, 90 per module.
This module provides you with an understanding of what is meant by digital marketing and the key communication tools used. It outlines:
- the key factors that influence the digital consumer, including social networks and virtual communities.
- the importance of developing campaign content aimed at specific market segments.
- how campaigns can be measured.
Assessment: You will be assessed by assignment based on a given scenario and an organisation of choice.
