Alan is a strategic communications practitioner with considerable international experience of working for governments and NGOs.  In 2010 he established a charity, Equality, that works for and with Roma who migrated to the UK.  Before that he led work to develop the communications profession within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and its 250 British Embassies overseas, he has been deputy British Ambassador in Latvia, was head of the Department for International Development’s programmes in Slovakia, a consultant to the Polish government and led ethnic rights litigation and campaigning work at the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest.  He is a Chartered Institute of Public Relations accredited teacher/trainer and a former student at CMC, 15 years ago.  Alan teaches at our Leeds Study Centre.
