Delegate Comment
'I decided to start the sports marketing diploma as this was an area I had enjoyed most when I touched on it during my time at university. I also had a lot of spare time on trips, waiting for tournaments to start so the structure of the diploma appealed to me as you could work at your own pace putting in more hours when you had more spare time and not doing so much work when times were busy. Not having to attend lectures, but having all the books provided and a tutor at the end of the phone also made it easier to study as a result I managed to complete the diploma without it having a negative impact on my training or tournament results. In fact, I think it actually had a positive impact as it took the pressure off me performing as I knew I was making the most of my spare time and setting myself up for life after badminton. The diploma proved really interesting, I liked the way you had to relate the theory to a real organisation and it gave me a better understanding of how Badminton England was run and an appreciation of the work that goes on behind the scenes. I would highly recommend undertaking the sports marketing diploma as it gave me a much better understanding as to how the organisation I was working for operated.'
