Introduction to Marketing

What is it all about?

Marketing is a concept often not really understood.  This course is designed to introduce delegates to the subject and to explain the basic concepts of marketing, as well as some of the key terms and the practicalities of implementing a marketing plan. Delegates will consider:

  • The role of marketing
  • Different ways of segmenting the market
  • The basics of market targeting
  • The need for clear objectives
  • The product portfolio and product life cycle
  • The role of price
  • Basic promotional techniques

Who Should Attend?

This course is a good introduction for anyone interested in understanding the power of marketing and how it can improve company performance. The course is designed for those new to the topic, or wishing to get involved in the use of marketing within their company.

  • Have a better understanding of what marketing is and how it evolved
  • Understand the need for market segmentation and effective targeting
  • Be able to prepare an outline marketing plan and use the tools of marketing, known as the Marketing Mix
