An architect by profession, Andrew has an MA and MBA focused on professional services strategy and business development. He has approaching twenty years experience of managing and advising professional service firms including ten years in the legal sector.
He founded a successful architectural practice and was its managing director for four years before being lured into the legal sector in 1997. In 1999 after two years as the marketing director of Hammond Suddards, he joined what was then Pinsent Curtis as business development director where he spent a further six years.
Andrew then established Hedley Consulting which advises the leadership teams of professional service organisations on business development and change strategies that deliver immediate and sustainable improvements in performance. Core areas of focus are Strategy, Brand Development, CRM, Key Client Management and the design and implementation of organisational structures and systems. Andrew is a member of the Advisory Board of Managing Partner magazine and Legal Marketing magazine as well as sitting on the judging panel of both the Legal Marketing Awards and the European Practice Management Awards, the UK’s two most high-profile and widely recognised awards for achievement in professional services management and business development. He is also a Director of the Managing Partners' Forum's Strategy Panel.
Andrew is a member of the Strategic Planning Society, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Institute of Management, and the Institute of Directors. He is also a Fellow of the RSA.
He is a contributor to specialist marketing and management publications and a regular conference speaker. Andrew is the Course Director for the Cambridge Marketing College CIM Professional Diploma in Professional Services.
