CIPR Foundation Award

Our Pass Rate for the CIPR Foundation Award last year was 100%!

If you are looking to enter the popular field of Public Relations, then the entry level CIPR Foundation Award is your ideal first step.

The qualification is an A-level equivalent and provides a detailed introduction to PR, including essential writing and other technical skills. There are three study days (Saturdays) and one three-hour examination to take, meaning you could gain a valuable qualification and a head start in your career in public relations within 12 weeks.

Each study day covers a key aspect of public relations:

1. Distinguishing PR activities: You will learn key ideas, theories and techniques involved in PR practice, plus study its relationship with marketing, advertising, journalism, promotion and publicity.

2. Writing for news media and online audiences: This is the core element of a successful career in PR, so you’ll develop writing skills, produce news releases, understand the principles of visual imagery and discover best practice in working with press, broadcast and social media.

3. Ethics and the PR Profesisonal: Understand the role of the professional PR practitioner, overcoming ethical issues you may face and the importance of areas such as corporate social responsibility and reputation management for organisations.

Your studies are supported by an experienced PR tutor, online course materials and recommended reading. Study sessions involve a range of learning methods including interactive exercises and best practice case studies.

Entry requirements:
You need to have at least five GCSEs at grade C or above. In addition, if English must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the language - spoken and written - to an International Language Testing System (IELTS) band score of 7.0 or above or equivalent. If you do not have the necessary GCSEs or GCEs you may still be accepted at the discretion of the CIPR on the basis of your professional experience (not necessarily in public relations). I just wanted to advise that my study books have arrived today. Wow! That’s very impressive. I wasn’t expecting such a volume of professionally presented publications and study aids as part of the fee - this already way surpasses the support I experienced with a previous marketing college, and I haven’t even logged in to my course yet! As we know, customer experience is paramount and, as a new student and ‘client’, the CMC has made me feel very valued indeed. Thank you. Looking forward to my bedtime reading! Many thanks indeed.
