Cambridge Marketing College

Personal Statement – Chris Parker

I feel that the CIM helps to shape the marketing agenda and I want to be a part of helping to manage and shape the future direction of marketing.  I also want to be able to help the organization grow, strengthen and implement new ideas and ways of working to the benefit of all members and stakeholders.

I have 25 years of sales and marketing experience, developing campaigns, tactics and strategies that have resulted in stronger sales, higher revenues and more members. I have experience in a variety of sectors – including manufacturing, aerospace, and business services – however in particular I believe that my strategic business development experience of successfully leading the recruitment of students from around the globe for the Henley MBA programme has real relevance.  At the same time I have also been a tutor for many years on CIM programmes at several UK universities as well as Cambridge Marketing Colleges and I have also taught strategic marketing programmes to Masters’ degree level.

I also have a significant exposure to International markets including Hong Kong, Greater China, India, Thailand and Malaysia. I also have exposure to business and markets in Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, Brazil, Dubai and the USA.

I believe the future for the CIM is growth in relevance and brand awareness internationally, particularly here in the Asia Pacific market. I also believe that further reinforcing and developing the linkages between successful sales and marketing strategies should be a focus for the future.

Chris Parker, CMC's Managing Director in Hong Kong, is standing for election to the CIM Board of Trustees.
All CIM members have the opportunity to vote for up to 4 trustees by 16 December 2011.
As a CIM member, you will be sent your ballot form. You may vote online or by post.
